Our purifying gel is formulated to reduce both hormonal and juvenile acne by regulating sebum production and offering a soothing and repairing action. Thanks to its high concentration of snail slime (65%) and aloe vera, it is suitable for all skin types, including the youngest skin.

We use Sodium Benzoate as a preservative for our snail slime extract and products. Sodium Benzoate is one of the five preservatives authorized in COSMOS ORGANIC certification.

The purifying gel is not recommended for pregnant and breastfeeding women due to its vitamin A content. Although vitamin A is effective against acne, at high doses, it is suspected of having adverse effects on the embryo. The amount of vitamin A in our purifying gel is well below the maximum doses recommended by the SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety). However, we prefer to advise against its use to avoid potential interactions with other products, as a precautionary measure.

Response from our toxicologist: The purifying gel contains retinyl palmitate (vitamin A).
At high doses, this ingredient could have a teratogenic effect, meaning it could have harmful effects on the child during pregnancy.
The indication "Do not use in pregnant women" is, however, only a precaution because the vitamin A content in the purifying gel has been validated by the SCCS (Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety).
The upper limit for vitamin A exposure is set at 5000 IU per day.
A facial product with a 0.3% vitamin A concentration leads to a daily exposure of 1185 IU for an adult. This exposure represents only 24% of the upper exposure limit.
Therefore, the SCCS considers that the use of vitamin A in facial creams at a concentration of 0.3% is safe.
The SCCS also estimates that, based on the worst-case scenario, assuming all cosmetic products used contain vitamin A (hand cream, body products, rinse-off products, lip products) at maximum concentrations, total vitamin A exposure from all products combined can lead to a maximum daily dose of 4855 IU for an adult, which remains below the upper daily exposure limit of 5000 IU.
